Civil Rights
The mission of the American Civil Rights Union is to protect the civil rights of all Americans, by publicly advancing a Constitutional understanding of civil rights; monitoring judicial nominees, judges, and legal organizations, while resisting those that threaten civil rights; and filing amicus briefs in critical civil rights court cases. Believing that the U.S. Constitution, including the Bill of Rights, is the greatest legal document ever written, the ACRU stands against harmful anti-Constitutional ideologies that have taken hold in our nation's courts, law schools, and bureaucracies. While others promote entitlements and license in the name of "liberties," the ACRU defends the civil rights set forth at the American Founding.
The mission of FIRE is to defend and sustain individual rights at America's colleges and universities. These rights include freedom of speech, legal equality, due process, religious liberty, and sanctity of conscience the essential qualities of individual liberty and dignity. FIRE's core mission is to protect the unprotected and to educate the public and communities of concerned Americans about the threats to these rights on our campuses and about the means to preserve them.

ur campaign exists to secure a constitutional amendment that defends the rights of parents to direct the upbringing and education of their children. No government can replace the love and nurture of a parent in the life of a child. Our sole purpose is to amend the U.S. Constitution to protect parental rights. Without secured parental rights, the vital child-parent relationship is exposed to the imminent danger posed by anti-parent judges within the federal courts, as well as to the risks of international law which seeks to undermine the parental role.

Freedom2Care is a coalition organized by the Christian Medical Association to bring together organizations and individuals who recognize the value of preserving historic American civil rights and freedoms in healthcare. An immediate goal of the Freedom2Care coalition is to protect the federal "provider conscience" regulation finalized in December 2008 by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. In the long term, the Freedom2Care coalition seeks to educate: * the public, so that patients recognize and advocate for their freedom to choose and retain access to healthcare professionals who follow life-affirming standards; * policy makers, so that our leaders recognize the historic American ideals of tolerance and fairness that prompted and should secure the civil rights legislation regarding conscience rights in healthcare; and * the medical community, to protect the freedom to adhere to time-tested, life-affirming standards of medical ethics and to preserv

True health care reform centers on four "pillars" of Patients' Rights: * Choice * Competition * Accountability * Personal Responsibility A patient must have the right to choose their own doctor, and must protect a consumer's right to choose the health insurance that best fits their needs and budget. Leveling the playing field for doctors, insurers, and consumers will result in healthy competition that drives down costs and increases favorable outcomes. Providers should publicly post their prices so consumers can shop and compare. States should eliminate burdensome regulations so insurance companies can compete equally across state lines. Making health care services more accessible, transparent and open through standardized insurance claims forms and equal tax breaks for individuals and companies will control costs by helping consumers and businesses compare "apples to apples" across the health care spectrum. Many Christian public interest law firms, in alliance with ADF, are working tirelessly to defend religious freedom, family values, and the sanctity of human life. Many of these organizations share in varying parts of our mission and ADF works hard to serve them and expand their capacity in their areas of expertise. ADF was founded for a unique and, we believe, God-given purpose. We exist to empower our allies, through an alliance, to accomplish far more than they could alone. This means we assist them in common areas, but do not assist them in areas outside the scope of our mission. And that is one of the reasons the Alliance is so effective. Since 1994, we have been blessed to work with more than 300 organizations, helping to coordinate an allied effort, to avoid duplication, and to provide resources and strategic direction on cases related to our mission.

ENDA is a "one size fits all" solution to alleged discrimination that erases all marriage-based distinctions. It grants special rights to homosexuals while ignoring those of employers. The federal government should not force private businesses to abandon their moral principles. FRC Action opposes this legislation on the following grounds: * Such legislation affords special protection to a group that is not disadvantaged. * The issue is not job discrimination. * The first "religious exemption" clause is very narrow and offers no clear protection to church-related businesses. * The second "religious exemption" clause fails to offer protection for all hiring by church-related organizations or businesses. * It is unlikely that the "religious exemption" included in the bill would survive court challenge. * ENDA would mandate the employment of homosexuals in inappropriate occupations. * ENDA violates employers' and e
